Ruth Angel Edwards (b. 1986, London) and Chloée Maugile (b. 1996, Santa Monica) have been collaborating since 2021. They make experimental films, which combine dark psychological scripts and humour with experimental film and editing techniques to produce maximal and confronting works that draw on current and historical popular and subcultural references. Their holistic and hands-on approach includes working closely with both professional and non-professional actors, musicians, researchers and interested communities, with the artists themselves taking on various creative and practical roles at the different stages of production. This results in a responsive, generative and rich form of storytelling, image making and world building.
