Who’s in Town is a loose programme series that invites curators and arts practitioners passing through London to stop at Asymmetry for an up-close-and-personal conversation with our audiences. Centred on open exchange, the format offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from and engage with leading voices in contemporary art and curatorial practice in an intimate setting. Each conversation begins with the guest’s current interests, research and preoccupations, allowing the dialogue to unfold from these initial points of connection, with space for questions and contributions from the audience.
In this session during London Frieze Week 2026, we are delighted to welcome Liu Ding, artist and curator, and Carol Yinghua Lu, art historian, curator and Director of Beijing Inside-Out Art Museum, and curators of the upcoming 19th Istanbul Biennial. Lu is also the curator of this year’s new section at Frieze London, The Code Universe, which examines the forces that shape popular culture, bringing together artists from the late 1970s to the present.
