Ricardo Yui is a Peruvian-born visual artist and filmmaker who lives and works in Amsterdam. He received an MA from ENSP d’Arles (FR) and his projects have been supported by institutions such as Institut Français (FR), AFK (NL), and DAFO (PE). His work has been internationally exhibited and screened in various festivals and institutions including: Festival de Cine de Lima (PE) ; Beijing International Short Film Festival BISFF (CN) ; de Brakke Grond (NL) ; Les Rencontres d’Arles (FR) ; Itaú Cultural (BR), and Musée du quai Branly (FR). He is currently developing his second feature film, Kong, which follows the return journey of an elderly Chinese man to his homeland in order to resolve a family conflict that has persisted for more than a century.
